Middle School Girls Flag Football (Grades 5-8)Recreation / YouthJoin Hastings Community Education for Middle School Girls Flag Football League and be a part of our second season! The primary objective of this program is to have fun! The program has been designed to give girls an opportunity to learn the basics of football and develop an appreciation for the game of football. It is a great way to learn the skills of teamwork, sportsmanship, hand-eye coordination and communication. Flag Football is a NON-CONTACT sport. Flags are worn on a belt around the waist and pulled off for the “tackle”. Flags/belts are provided. Jerseys can be included with the registration fee if you do not have one from last year. Mouthguards and tennis shoes are required, cleats are optional. Mouthguards are required player equipment. To be legal, mouthguards must not include any attachment(s) that do not serve a purpose and function in protecting the teeth or mouth. (no pacifier looking ones, extra bling, etc.) Athletes will not be allowed to participate until they have a legal mouthguard. Bring a water bottle. No experience is necessary and everyone will play. You must have a current sports physical on file with the middle school athletic office. We hope to have enough players to scrimmage against each other but watch for information on possible games against other middle schools as we coordinate with other teams in our area. We will request parent volunteers for the field set up on game days and will be looking for volunteer officials for games. Thank you to the Minnesota Vikings and InSports Foundation for providing a grant to support this program. *Dates and times are subject to change. In the case of inclement weather, practice will be canceled and may be rescheduled based on coach availability for another day.Winter/Spring 26 -
