NEW! Weld a Garden SculptureAdult EnrichmentJoin local artist Greg Kraft as he teaches you how to TIG weld and make a sculpture for your home or garden. You will cut, bend and shape steel straps around a stone. Weld the steel to encase the stone and mount it on a steel rod with more welding. TIG stands for Tungsten Inert Gas. This type of welding bonds metal to metal without the use of rods, sticks or wire feeds. Greg will cover safety as well as introductory concepts of sculpture design. Students should wear a long sleeved cotton shirt, jeans or heavy-duty work pants, closed toe leather shoes or boots. You will learn how to create a barn quilt that looks professional. This includes all of the materials needed to complete a barn quilt. Materials included for class: 2' x 2' Aluminum Composite. This is a premium grade material that professional sign makers use. It will never rust or rot. It is lightweight and easy to hang but very sturdy and great to work on. 60 plus fabulous paint colors to choose from. Proficiency and Preparation for Steam & Hot Water Heating Boiler License TestingAdult EnrichmentPrepare to be more informed boiler operators and gain knowledge of boilers, codes and practices, in preparation for the State of MN boiler operator’s exams resulting in possible career advancement. Focus on low PSI steam and hot water heating boilers. Numerous components from boilers are used to provide accurate learning and a folder of pertinent information is provided. Three sample tests and corrected copies are provided. Handouts relating to the governing jurisdictional codes, applicable and currently enforced in Minnesota, are explained in an easy format. State exam applications and affidavit forms provided. (Opt’l textbook: Low Pressure Boilers, third edition, by Frederick M. Steingress and Daryl R. Spooktacular Puzzle TournamentAdult EnrichmentGather your puzzle fanatic friends or family members! Join us Saturday, October 24th for our Spooktacular Puzzle Tournament. Doors will open at 9am for coffee and treats. Teams of four will race to put together a 500 piece puzzle. All teams will put together the same puzzle which will be revealed that morning when the clock starts at 9:30am. The team that finishes first or has the most done when the timer ends wins bragging rights! We will provide the puzzle, coffee and a sweet treat. This event is open to teams of all ages. Register under one person’s name and then the person registering will answer a question of who the other three people are on the team. Feel free to dress up… there will be a prize for the best dressed team!! We will host a community puzzle exchange during this time. Spectators and tournament participants are welcome to bring a puzzle or two if you want to trade with others.Fall 2026
