Fun, Friends & Fitness: Rivertown BoatingSpecial ServicesLet's go for a boat ride! Meet at the dock in Prescott to board the pontoon. Please arrive 15-30 minutes early. Join your friends for a fun time on the river. The outing is free, but you must register with Community Education. Staff/caregiver must also register as there is limited room on the boat. We are sharing this boat ride with our friends at Lifeworks. Life jackets are provided. Be sure to wear sunscreen. Sharks: Special Olympics BowlingSpecial ServicesSharks Special Olympics Bowling PRACTICES: We practice on the following Tuesday evenings at the Island Xtreme Bowl Lanes located at Treasure Island Resort and Casino, 5734 Sturgeon Lake Road, Welch, MN 55089. September 8, 15, 22 & 29 October 6, 13, 20, & 27 November 3 & 10 Practice starts promptly at 6:30 PM. Arrive at Treasure Island at 6:00 PM for a team meeting in the Xtreme Lanes party room. Please have your bowling shoes on and be ready to bowl by 6:20! Use the restroom before practice begins. Athletes must be escorted to the restroom by staff/family. Unified partners should plan to attend every practice with their athlete. Only Hastings Sharks athletes and their unified partners will be allowed to practice with our team. The Sharks cannot allow substitute Unified Partners to practice. If you arrive after 6:30, you may miss your first game. Alcohol, tobacco and/or vaping products are not allowed by anyone during practices or competitions. Out of respect for our fellow athletes, food and beverages are not allowed on or near the lanes. Please note that the snack bar/cafe will probably not be open. Also, it is not okay to bring outside food or beverages into Xtreme Bowl. STATE COMPETITION: Saturday, November 14th through Sunday, November 15th * **Island Xtreme Bowl - Treasure Island Resort and Casino 5734 Sturgeon Lake Road Welch, MN 55089 **It is possible that the Sharks may bowl at another location for State. We will notify the team as soon as our competition location is announced. A parent, friend or staff must accompany the athlete to competition and make sure they are ready for their events. If you do not plan to compete, please do not register for the team. Please arrive early for the competition. A late arrival may result in being your athlete being scratched. Athletes will never be turned away if they are unable to pay the participation fee. Sharks: Special Olympics SoccerSpecial ServicesHastings Sharks Special Olympics Soccer PRACTICES: We will practice on the following Saturday afternoons and Wednesday evenings at the Wallin Park Soccer Field at 1655 Northridge Drive, Hastings. The field is located west of the permanent hockey rink. Street parking is available on Northridge Drive between Wyndham Hill Drive and Stonegate Road. Saturday Afternoons from 3:30-5:00 PM: September 12, 19 and 26 & October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31Wednesday Evenings from 6:30-dusk: September 16, 23 & 30 and October 7 PRACTICE DETAILS: Special Olympics is offering soccer as a recreational sport in 2026. In addition to training for soccer games, Sharks athletes will work on soccer skills during practice. This year we will have several games on Saturday, both at our fields in Hastings and away, likely in Burnsville, Prior Lake/Savage and Stillwater. Unified athletes are welcome to join our soccer team. In the event of bad weather, please call Coach Ray Kennedy to see if practice has been cancelled or delayed. If you are unable to attend a practice or game, please contact Coach Ray or Coach Sophie Gartzke at Please arrive 15 minutes before practice starts.
